  • 18:  Snowbird Day:  Hours of fun from 11am-3pm designed to introduce winter visitors to Historic DeFuniak Springs.  Event begins with complimentary light lunch at 11am at Tropicana Club fine dining restaurant at 400 East Nelson Avenue, DeFuniak Springs for those who RSVP by calling City Hall at (850) 892-8500, ext. 224 or DeFuniak Springs Visitors Bureau at (850) 333-2241. Then, take a tour of the Historic District and see inside some of our most historic structures.  Reservations are NOT required for tours which begin at Noon at the historic clock on Baldwin Avenue.   • 20:  5th Annual Gras Fest and Parade:  Starts 11am on Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs with food, crafts and curiosities, and classic cars.  (GPS 3 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, 32435).  Parade starts at 3pm as the beads begin to fly.    Afterwards, the fun will continue at the after-party at 4C's Barbeque (1045 US Highway 331 South, DeFuniak Springs), with live music and great food.  This event is fun for the whole family - so come out and Let the Good Times Roll with Krewe de Yak!  Contact Samantha Graves, event publicity chair.  Sponsored by Krewe de Yak.  www.krewedeyak.org.  krewedeyak@gmail.com.   (850) 419-5977.
  • 25-28:  Florida Chautauqua Assembly An historic 4-day educational program for families comprised of a keynote presentation, educational breakout sessions, evening dinner performances and exhibits relating to an annual theme.  2018 theme is “Into the Pillars of Chautauqua,” featuring a keynote presentation by the Klinge Brothers of the hit show Ghost Lab on Discovery Channel.  The Klinge Brothers are the founders of Everyday Paranormal. All exhibits free including a Florida Frontiersmen Settlement Camp, Florida Forest Service Indoor Nature Trail, Tin Can Tourists Antique Camper & RV show, Native American Camp, and more.  New this year are free educational sessions on Saturday at the Lake Yard focused on local history and interesting topics.  Sponsored by Florida Chautauqua Association.  www.FloridaChautauquaAssembly.org.  (850) 892-7613.  
  • 26-27:  Homecoming of Remains of WWII Hero Lt. Ewart Sconiers Public invited to join family of WWII hero Lt.   • 16-17:  Chautauqua Quilters Guild Biennial Quilt Show Show located at DeFuniak Springs Community Center, 361 North 10th Street.  Includes an Opportunity Quilt, several vendors, demos, door prizes, and more.
